Privacy Policy
OwnSpace is built around two core principles:
- Local-First Architecture
- Privacy-First Approach
Your data belongs to you and remains under your control.
1. Overview
OwnSpace is designed to work primarily on your own device.
The application does not require user accounts and does not rely on centralized storage of your content.
At the current stage, OwnSpace operates without:
- user registration;
- user accounts;
- subscriptions;
- payments;
- built-in cloud storage;
- AI services;
- server-side processing of user content.
2. Information We Collect
OwnSpace does not intentionally collect:
- your notes;
- documents;
- files;
- images;
- knowledge base content;
- cloud storage credentials.
The Developer has no access to your local data.
3. Local Data Storage
All user content is stored locally on your device.
You retain full ownership and control of your files at all times.
4. Cloud Synchronization
OwnSpace does not provide its own cloud service.
If you choose to synchronize your files using a third-party cloud provider (such as Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud, Syncthing or similar services), synchronization occurs under your control.
Your cloud provider's privacy policy and terms apply to those services.
The Developer is not responsible for the operation or security of third-party cloud providers.
5. Analytics
5. Analytics
To help improve OwnSpace, the official website and/or application may collect anonymous usage statistics through:
- Google Analytics;
- Yandex Metrica.
Collected information may include:
- application or website usage statistics;
- device and browser information;
- operating system;
- visited pages and user interactions;
- session duration;
- crash or performance information (if available through these services).
These analytics services are used solely to understand how OwnSpace is used and to improve functionality, stability and user experience.
The Developer does not use analytics to access, read or analyze the contents of your notes, documents or other local files.
Data processing performed by these services is governed by their respective privacy policies.
6. Cookies
The desktop and mobile applications do not use cookies.
If the official website uses cookies for technical purposes, they will not be used to access or analyze your local content.
7. Third-Party Services
OwnSpace currently does not require third-party online services for normal operation.
If you voluntarily use external cloud synchronization services, those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
8. Data Security
OwnSpace is designed to minimize privacy risks by storing your data locally.
However, protecting your device, cloud accounts and backups remains your responsibility.
9. Your Rights
Since OwnSpace does not collect or store your personal content, there is generally no personal data held by the Developer to:
- access;
- modify;
- export;
- delete.
You remain in full control of your own files.
10. Changes to this Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
The latest version will always be distributed with the application and published on the official website.
11. Contact
Questions regarding this Privacy Policy may be submitted through the official OwnSpace project pages.
