Privacy-First

OwnSpace is built on the Privacy-First principle. Your data belongs to you and only you. The app is designed so that no external server ever has access to the content of your notes.

Confidentiality

Everything you create in OwnSpace stays on your device. Notes, documents, tags, file links — none of this information ever leaves your browser without your explicit permission.

There is no telemetry, no data collection about what you write. OwnSpace does not track your habits, does not analyze your content, and does not share anything with third parties.

Connection with Local-First

The Privacy-First principle is a direct consequence of the Local-First architecture. Since all data is stored locally on your device, external servers simply have no access to your files. Cloud sync only works by your choice and only with providers you trust.

Local-First makes Privacy-First possible: you don't need a complex privacy policy when data never leaves your device in the first place.

Service Servers

The server part of OwnSpace performs purely auxiliary functions:

• Serves static landing page and PWA files
• Handles OAuth authorization for cloud providers

OwnSpace servers do not store your notes. They do not have access to the content of your files. They know nothing about what you write, what projects you work on, or what information you keep.

Your data is your data — only yours.
